At VEMRE, we take the security and trust of our customers seriously. We therefore encourage all customers and business partners to remain vigilant whenever they receive financial requests claiming to come from our Accounts Department.
Common Accounting-Related Fraud Tactics
Fraudsters may contact customers through phone calls, emails, WhatsApp messages, or other communication platforms while pretending to be an authorized VEMRE representative. They may claim that:
An outstanding invoice needs to be paid urgently.
The company has changed its bank account details.
A refund is available and banking information is required.
A payment has failed and must be made again.
An account needs to be verified before a transaction can be completed.
A special payment or transfer is required to prevent an account from being suspended.
These requests may appear genuine and may even contain company names, logos, or other information designed to make the communication look legitimate.
How to Protect Yourself
Before making any payment or providing financial information, always take a moment to verify the request.
Never share sensitive information, including your OTP, PIN, password, card details, or banking credentials, with anyone claiming to represent VEMRE.
If you receive a request to make payment into a new or unfamiliar account, do not transfer the funds until the account details have been independently verified through an official VEMRE communication channel.
Customers should also be cautious of messages that create unnecessary urgency or pressure them to make immediate payments.
When in Doubt, Verify
If you receive a suspicious message, invoice, payment request, or call claiming to be from VEMRE’s Accounts Department, please verify it with VEMRE before taking any action.
Do not click suspicious links, respond with confidential information, or transfer money simply because the sender appears to be an employee of the company.
Your financial security is a shared responsibility, and taking a few extra minutes to verify a request can prevent significant financial loss.
Our Commitment to You
VEMRE remains committed to maintaining transparent, secure, and professional financial interactions with our customers and business partners.
We encourage everyone to remain alert and report any suspicious communication immediately. When it comes to your money and financial information, always verify before you trust.
Stay alert. Stay informed. Stay protected.
